Planimetric Map


  Planimetric maps are two dimensional, digital, graphic maps that represent three dimensional features.  It uses horizontal positioning, lines, and shapes to show features on the earth's surface. There is an association with X and Y coordinate systems and is commonly used in planning urban development.

This map is an example of a planimetric map. It uses different colors to differentiate buildings from roads and towns.
